So here we are again at that time of the year where the newly purchased iPhones are keeping the fingertips of Apple fans busy. However, so soon after the release of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are there rumours for what to expect next year for the iPhone 7. So here are some iPhone 7 rumours that are around – there are many more!

Size

According to AppleInsider, the new iPhone 7 is going to be around 6.0 and 6.5mm thick. That is slightly slimmer than the iPhone 6S (7.1mm) and iPhone 6S Plus (7.2mm) – which are thicker than the iPhone 6 (6.9mm) and iPhone 6 Plus (7.1mm). This rumour makes the iPhone 7 around the same size as the iPod Touch and the iPad Air 2. Let’s hope it can survive the curves of my buttock whilst in my back pocket!

Waterproof?

What might an interesting rumoured feature is that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof. But this won’t be achieved in the conventional way such as reducing access of water to internals, rumour has it that Apple have opted for a technique known as Plasma-Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition (PACVD). This technique layers the internals allowing them to be water-resistant. The obvious benefit of this is that the iPhone 7 won’t need to be carried around in a clear plastic bag when going to the beach, like its predecessors. As lovely as that sounds it is yet to be confirmed.

Wireless Charging?

One rumour that has been going around for a while is that Apple will introduce wireless charging. However many consumers were hoping to see this feature on the iPhone 6 and 6S. However the rumours have yet to be confirmed for the iPhone 7. Wireless charging is becoming popular with many Android phones being Qi ready, while Ikea has even released furniture with built-in wireless charging. So fingers crossed for iPhone 7 wireless charging, if not, there is always the option for a Qi wireless charge receiver.

Cost

It is difficult to predict the exact price products will cost so far from its release, however does tend to keep its prices stable. Guessing the price of entry level version of the iPhone 7 will cost around £539; the 64GB version will cost £619 and the 128GB version £699. Assuming there’s an iPhone 7 Plus, expect the prices to be £619, £699 and £789 respectively. Excitingly, rumour has it that there might be a 256GB version – Wow! Bring on September 2016!
