The Dualshock 4 is a fantastic controller and has served PS4 gamers very well over the last few years, but is it time for Sony to release an upgrade Dualshock 4 Controller for the PS4? Maybe an upgrade similar to the Elite Controller for the Xbox One?
Well this could well be a possibility as Sony has recently re-filed their patents for potential upgraded controllers for the PS4, as seen below. These designs include, a bigger touchpad, button and analogue stick layout changes, and paddle buttons on the handles of the controller.

With PS4 NEO in the works, it may be a wise decision for Sony to include an upgraded controller with the new console. Are these upgrades worth replacing the standard Dualshock 4? Maybe not, although nothing is officially confirmed. We’ll keep out eyes and ears pealed for more information.
